No lottery cash forthcoming for proposed improvements to Leek park

STAFFORDSHIRE Moorlands District Council has failed  to secure lottery funding for an ambitious recreation project.

The council submitted  a request for cash to the Heritage Lottery Fund to allow improvements to Leek’s Brough Park.

However, the lottery fund has this week informed the local authority its initial bid for cash has been unsuccessful.

District councillor Brian Johnson, cabinet member with responsibility for parks, said he was “desperately disappointed” with the negative response.
