Village playground has reopened to children after arson attack

A children’s playground in a Moorlands village has been refurbished after being destroyed in an arson attack.

The incident at Brown Edge last year caused £56,000 of damage and led to the conviction of a 13 year old boy.

The playground in High Lane, which is owned by Brown Edge Parish Council, is now back in use.

The council’s insurers have met the cost of replacing the play equipment damaged beyond repair in the blaze.
