Leek CSOB and Ball Haye Green bid for a place in Staffs FA Vase semi-finals

THERE is a possibility of an all-Moorlands final in this years prestigious Staffs FA Vase competition.

The draw for the semi-finals has kept local rivals Leek CSOB and Ball Haye Green part.

Both teams however have first to win their quarter-final ties delayed by the weather.

Green will face Hanley Town in the last four if they can overcome Florence , while a clash with Newcastle Town will await CSOB should they beat Redgate Clayton.

Newcastle beat County Premier Division leaders Abbey Hulton United 2-1 away to reach the semi-finals, but it was not a clear-cut passage for Hanley against Division One Eastwood Hanley. Eastwood held their local rivals to a goalless draw in normal playing time, but a penalty shoot-out ended 4-2 in Hanley Town’s favour.

It was another trophy disappointment for the Abbey who were recently beaten 4-2 at home by Cheadle Town in the County League Challenge Cup.
