Young poets are invited express what is great about Staffordshire as a place to visit

STAFFORDSHIRE’S young poets are being invited to enter a competition to celebrate everything that is great about the county.

The competition for schoolchildren is being organised as part of the annual Staffordshire Day celebrations which will take place on May 1.

They are being asked to is put pen to paper to say why Staffordshire is a such great place to visit.

Youngsters aged seven to 16 can take part so long as they live, go to school, or use a library in Staffordshire.

The competition winner will be awarded a pass for an entire class trip to Trentham Garden’s Monkey Forest, Thrill Hopper passes, a £50 One4All gift card, and a workshop for their school with performance poet Giovanni Esposito (also known as Spoz).

Every primary school pupil who enters will receive a Drayton Manor Park Golden Ticket, which admits one child under 12 free, when they are accompanied by a full paying adult.

Entries should be submitted to Enjoy Staffordshire by email to [email protected] or handed in at a local library before 5pm on Friday, April 7.
