Rugby Union: Leek 1st XV gain revenge over local rivals Newcastle


LEEK gained sweet revenge for an earlier defeat in the season by Newcastle with a clear-cut 34-o victory over their local rivals.

The rampant hosts scored six tries through Tom Scragg, Joel Booth, Rob McDermott, George Hunt, Luke Hardern and Ad Smith to keep well up in the promotion race in Midlands Two West (North).

Leek have now recorded 10 wins on the spin and trail league leaders Stourbridge Lions by just four points with six games remaining.
