THERE has been a steady flow of entries over the past few days for the Cheadle Spring 5 road race which is being held this Sunday.
The race, organised by Cheadle Running Club, will start from Cheadle High School at 10 am.
The event is being sponsored by Stoddards Ltd, Derek Fower Transport Ltd, Hillside Fishing Pool and Blake Hall Fishery.
“The club also acknowledges the long standing support of John Heath, the proprietor of Blake Hall Fishery and a valued sponsor of the race over the years, ” said Barrie Clutton of Cheadle Running Club.
“The number of runners completing the event has grown over the years & judging by the number of pre-race entries there should be another big turn-out again this year,” he added.
The event never fails to attract top runners from all over the Midlands and the North, providing some memorable races and is one of the top fixtures in the area.
For those that think that five miles is too far there is a short fun run about a mile, starting shortly after the main race.
This is an ideal distance for all fun runners, both young and old and hopefully there will be quite a few families taking part.
All finishers will receive a medal and there are also spot prizes on offer in this event as well.
Entries on the day for the main race are £10 for club runners and £12 for unattached runners. It costs £2.50 to enter the fun run.
