Balloons tribute raises awareness of hospital heart scanner appeal

BALLOONS have been released at a Biddulph school as a memorial tribute to a teacher’s baby son and to raise awareness of a heart scanner appeal.

Seventeen-month-old Stanley Scarratt was born with a congenital heart defect and died earlier this year before a suitable organ donor could be found.

His father, Marc Scarratt,  31, from Congleton, is a teacher at Biddulph High School, where colleagues and students have been raising money in support of the  Super Stanley Appeal, which is aiming to help equip the Royal Stoke University Hospital with a heart scanner.

The Scarratt family and friends hope to raise £20,000 towards the University of North Midlands Hospital Charity’s £60,000 target.
