Former Maxims clubbers invited to share their memories

A RALLYING call is being made to past revellers at Maxims nightclub in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The club was first known as The Placemate, then Sammi Belles disco and finally Maxims before closing in 2006.

The site is now being developed by the Nantwich-based care operator Belong as a 74-bed care village to accommodate around 100 dementia patients.

The New Vic Theatre at Basford and Borderlines Community Group are appealing to former clubbers and employees to help them create a drama production to celebrate the new milestone.

They are staging a series of workshops where people can share their memories and bring along photos and memorabilia.

The workshops will take place at:

Silverdale Athletic Community Building, Sutton Avenuer, Silverdale, on Tuesday, April 11, from 1.30pm to 3pm; York Place, High Street, Nedwcastle, on Saturday, April 22, from 10.30am until 3.30pm; and the New Vic Theatre, Basford, on Thursday, April 27, between 10.30am and 12.30pm, and 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
