AUTHOR Dan Weatherer, formerly of Cheadle, has been shortlisted for a literary award.
The 37 year old’s short story collection, Neverlight, is one of 10 books in contention for the first Arnold Bennett Literary Prize.
The launch of the litterary award marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of the Potteries most famous sons.
Neverlight was published in March last year by Spectral Press and is the Meir Park writer’s third collection to date.
His other successes include penning the script for the film, The Legend of the Chained Oak, filmed about the famous tree in Oakamoor, which is also subject of the Alton Towers ride, Hex.
