Wednesday Sport: League leaders coming to Pointon Park

A BIG crowd is anticipated at Cheddleton’s Pointon Park tonight (Wednesday) when County League Division Two (North) leaders Tunstall Town pay a visit to face third-placed Leek CSOB reserves.

Tunstall stand unbeaten 10 points clear at the top of the table on 43 points, but they are not totally invincible.

On a previous visit to the Staffordshire Moorlands they were thrashed 7-0 by Premier Division outfit Cheadle Town in the Leek Cup.

However, Tunstall’s league form speaks for itself – 14 wins and one draw from their 15 league outings – and they will arrive at the Cheadle Road ground on the back of a 4-0 win at fourth-placed Chesterton AFC on Saturday.

CSOB’s league record reads won 10 drawn 3 lost 4 with 33 points.

UTTOXETER Town ended Studley’s nine-game unbeaten run in the Midland League First Division last night with a 3-1 away victory.
