STAFFORDSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service is stepping up its recruitment drive for retained (part-time) firefiighters.
The service has vacancies for ‘on-call’ personnel at its stations across the county including Longnor, Cheadle, Ipstones and Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Canididates must be 18 or over and live within five minutes of their local fire station.
Retained firefighters are requited to attend weekly drill nights after their initial training course.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Many retianed firefighters fit their fire service duties around their main employment.
“Others have an agreement with their employer which ebables them to leave work should they be alerted to attend an incident.”
