POLICE inquiries are continuing into a suspected serious assault in Grange Road, Cheddleton last night.
A 24 year old man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where he is said to be in a critical condition.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Police and ambulance were called to reports of a man being assaulted in a residential street at around 8.55pm.
“An initial investigation quickly resulted in the arrest of two men in connection with the incident.
“The scene has been secured to allow a detailed forensic investigation to take place.
“The two men arrested aged in their 40’s will be questioned by detectives as the investigation continues.”
