Former Leek town mayor is the new chairman of district authority

STAFFORDSHIRE Moorlands District Council has welcomed a new chairman for 2017/18.

He is Conservative member Ben Emery (Leek West), pictured left, who succeeds Julie Bull (Cheadle North East) in the role.

Independent member John Jones (Biddulph Moor) has been appointed vice chairman of the authority.

Coun Bull handed over her chair of office to former Leek town mayor Coun Emery at the council’s Annual Meeting at Moorlands House in Leek.
