POLICE have shut down three cannabis factories in North Staffordshire in 36 hours.
Officers have recovered more than 200 cannabis plants from three separate addresses in the Burslem, Cobridge and Pitts Hill areas of Stoke-on-Trent over the last two days.
One man has been arrested and reported for summons for drug offences.
Chief Insp John Owen said: “Apart from the fact that we have prevented thousands of pounds worth of illegal drugs from hitting the streets, we have also removed potential fire hazards.
“No-one wants to live next to a drug den, and the way these cannabis factories are set up they present a clear fire danger to neighbouring properties.
“These raids were carried out acting on information from the community and intelligence sources.
“I would like to thank the public for their support and encourage anyone with suspicions about drug cultivation or dealing to contact us, either by calling 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
