Vale new Vale loan signing Pyke takes his goals tally to five in three games

TEENAGE loan striker Rekeil Pyke scored his fifth goal in three games to earn Port Vale a 1-1 draw from their pre-season friendly at non-league Buxton this afternoon.

The 19 year old, pictured left, has wasted not time in creating a big impression after recently joining the Valiants on season-long loan deal from Premiership Huddersfield Town.

Pyke, who was snapped up as a future exciting prospect from Colchester United by Huddersfield, levelled for Vale in the 54th minute, after Liam Hardy had given Buxton, from the Evo-stik Northern Premier League Premier Division, a 37th minute lead.

The youngster had bagged a brace in each of goals in of Vale’s two previous friendlies, which resulted in big wins against Evo-stik Nothern Premier League First Division South sides Kidsgrove Athletic (6-0) and Newcastle Town (8-0).

A Port Vale Youth XI lost 3-0 away to Midland League Premier Division side Rocester FC (Chris Martin 12 and 41 mins, Martin Smyth 82 mins).
