Police appeal: Do you recognise these three males?

POLICE would like to speak to the three people captured on CCTV in connection with a vicious and sustained assault which left a 19-year-old man with a broken jaw.

The attack took place at around 9.45pm on Wednesday, July 12, on parkland behind the Co-op store on Abbots Road, Abbey Hulton.

The victim was crossing a footbridge when he was circled by three males, punched and kicked in the face and knocked to the ground.

The attackers continued to kick him while he was defenceless on the ground for a further five to six minutes. The man suffered fractured ribs, facial injuries and had to have two plates inserted to repair a broken jaw.

Detective Constable Gary Cliffe said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack that has left a young man with terrible injuries. I would appeal to anyone who recognises these males, or who has any information that could help us bring the offenders to justice.”
