Crunch match for local rivals Leek and Ashcombe Park

ASHCOMBE Park face a crunch match away to local rivals Leek in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire Cricket League tomorrow (Saturday), 1pm start.

The visitors will desperately seeking a victory to keep alive their hopes of retaining their status in the top flight, after dropping down into the relegation zone last weekend.

Leek, on the other hand, will need to win in order to keep their Premier Division title hopes alive.

Leek are third in the table on 289 points, 27 points adrift of Porthill Park in top spot on 316 – who Leek meet away next weekend – while Meakins are sandwiched in between on 293.

Meakins are at home to Porthill Park on September 9 so the championship issue is far from settled yet.
