The flag goes up as country park is again named as one of the UK’s best

LADDEREDGE Country Park in the Staffordshire Moorlands has been named as one of the UK’s best for the third year running.

The 70-acre park on the edge of Leek is one of 1,796 parks and green spaces to receive a prestigious international Green Flag Award

The award, now in its 21st year, recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces in the country and a Green Flag overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards and is well maintained.

Ladderedge Country Park is full of wildlife, with wildflower meadows, woodlands and wetlands and fantastic views, and is located just a mile from Leek town centre.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council cabinet member Mike Bowen said: “We are delighted to receive this award once again – particularly in a year when a record number of parks and green spaces have collected a Green Flag Award.”
