FA Cup fever is about to hit Harrison Park with a visit from Merseysiders

LEEK Town step onto the Wembley trail this Saturday when they entertain Cammell Laird in the preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The visitors from Birkenhead were relegated from the North West Counties League Premier Division at the end of last season, but Blues boss Neil Baker will be warning his players against complacency, as the FA Cup  is renowned for being a great leveller.

Blues will be seeking their first win of their 2017-18 campaign, after going down 3-1 away to Evo-Stik League newcomers Alvechurch on the opening day of the season, and then having to settle for a point from a goalless draw at home to Belper Town earlier this week.

The Belper clash saw the return of Harrison Park of Ant Danylyk and Paul Donnelly, now in charge of team affairs at the Derbyshire club after the duo relieved of their similar duties at Leek Town.

Cammell Laird beat FC Oswestry Town 3-2 in the NWCL in mid-week, after losing 3-0 to Prestwich Heys on the opening day of the new league season.
