Further arrests made in connection with Cobridge hit and run incident

A FURTHER three men from Stoke-on-Trent have been arrested in connection with the hit and run road traffic collision in the city earlier this week.

Two of the men, aged 29 and 32, were located in Manchester last night. A 23-year-old man was also arrested in Stoke-on-Trent this morning.

The 26-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent arrested yesterday afternoon remains in police custody.

All four men are being questioned by officers.

The vehicle which officers believe was involved in the collision, a silver VW Jetta, was located on Wednesday and is currently undergoing forensic analysis.

The collision happened on Waterloo Road, Cobridge, on Tuesday evening.

.A 17-year-old girl and her one-year-old daughter were seriously injured during the incident. The mother and daughter remain in Royal Stoke University Hospital and their conditions are described as stable.

Staffordshire Police are urging any witnesses or anyone with information that could assist with their  investigation to call them on 101, quoting incident 780 of August 15.
