Officers arrested 10 men, with ages ranging from 16-26, for possession of drugs including MDMA, ecstasy, cannabis, cocaine and ketamine.
In addition a 27-year-old man was arrested for a breach of bail conditions, a 23-year-old man was recalled to prison and a 33-year-old man was arrested for theft after being caught stealing £150 cash from a tent.
A health warning has also been issued after drugs seized by officers have been identified as dangerous if consumed.
The drugs, Pentylone and N-Ethylpentylone, have been seen recently at other music festivals and have resulted in those taking it requiring urgent medical attention. The effects of the drug include nausea, vomiting, hypothermia, inability to sleep and agitation.
Superintendent Martin Brereton, commander for the police operation at V, said: “The first 24 hours have seen very little crime and have proven that our security and policing operation is working well.
“Working with partners and the event organisers, we will continue to provide an extensive and unpredictable policing operation to prevent crime of all types and keep festival-goers safe.
“Remember if you see anything suspicious or are in need of help, please speak to an officer or in an emergency ring 999.”
