Busy past week for Cheadle Running Club members

THE past week has seen two more local races with further success being achieved by members of Cheadle Running Club.
Last Thursday’s multi-terrain Dave Clark 5k race, which was held at Hanford, saw the veteran Mark Dalkins win  in a time of 16:19.
The race developed into a battle up front between Dalkins and Trentham Running Club’s Simon Myatt, as they moved  clear of the main opposition.
Dalkins increased the pressure Myatt, winner of this year’s Leek Half Marathon, and eventually  eased clear to victory.
Jenny Day was fourth lady overall and took the FV40 prize in 20:17.  Dave Allen was second MV50 in 18:38, followed by Glyn Pattinson in 19:01, Pete Richardson 20:56 and Donna Hughes 21:30.
The annual Leek Half marathon was held last Sunday, taking in challenging terrain over The Roaches.  Chris Green was the second MV60 in 1:37:42, followed by Pete Richardson 1:41:13, Sally Kenny 2:00:27 and Sarah Nutter 2:17:57.
