More claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance in the Staffordshire Moorlands

THERE has been an increase in the number of people claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

.Latest figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) show claimant figures rose from 495 in July to 505 last month.

In contrast the number of people out of work in neighbouring Stoke-on-Trent continues to fall, down to 3,700 in August from 3,755 the previous month.

Nationally, employment is running at a record high of 75.3 per cent, with 32 million people now in work across the UK.
