PCSO’s paw in the cash for pooches with pedal-power

TWO PCSO’s with a passion for pooches have been pedalling to paw in cash for the Dogs Trust.

Community support bobbies Steve Sherratt, 48, and John Staples, 46, who are based at Cheadle police station, have raised just under £600 from a sponsored marathon bike ride.

Their 115-mile journey in the saddle took them form North Staffordshire to Manchester and Shewsbury.

Steve has now raised around £5,300 for the Dogs Trust and plans on embarking on more fundraising missions for the national charity.

A Dogs Trust spokesman said: “Every penny raised goes towards making sure our dogs have everything they need while they are being cared for by us.”
