POLICE have named the driver who died when his van left the road and collided with a tree in the Staffordshire Moorlands in the early hours of Sunday.
He was Robert Proctor, aged 31, from the Congleton area, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident in Beat Lane, Rushton Spencer, near Leek.
A police spokesman said: “Robert’s family are continuing to receive support from specially trained officers and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.”
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident 86 of September 17.
