CHILDREN are making the most improved play facilities in a Staffordshire Moorlands village.
The new Hot Scotch Park playground in Hot Lane, Biddulph Moor, has been given a warm welcome by youngsters.
Woodhouse Academy student Ellie Davies was given the honour of officially opening the new facilities on the former run-down site..
It was the 11-year-old’s four-year campaign which brought the project to fruition.
A £10,000 fund-raising campaign was backed by grants of £5,000 from Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and £45,000 from environmental body WREN to get the scheme off the ground.
A rusty and outdated seesaw, slide and swings on the site have been replaced with modern play equipment and soft surfacing to cushion any falls.
A delighted Ellie said: “It’s everything I wanted.”
