Approach Staffordshire open another respite cafe for carers in the Moorlands

THE charity Approach Staffordshire has opened another cafe in the Staffordshire Moorlands, where it can to provide welcome respite for dementia carers.

The cafe is based at Endon Methodist Church, on Leek Road, and adds to similar facilities run by the charity in Leek and Cheadle.

Moorlands MP Karen Bradley, who attended the official opening, said: “Having somewhere to come to where you know you are not alone and you can share experiences is so important.”

The Approach Staffordshire cafes are free monthly support groups for anyone who cares for an older person with dementia or a mental health issue.

Health professionals, community nurses, support workers and specialist dementia advisors will regularly attend the Endon cafe to offer their support and advice to carers.
