LEADING scorer Jordan Johnson, pictured, could return to the Leek Town line-up for tomorrow’s league trip to Lincoln United.
Johnson, who has netted six times in the Evo-stik Northern Premier League First Division South this season, has missed Blues last games while nursing a hamstring injury.
Blues boss Neil Baker is hopeful the short rest will have cured the problem for for his in-form striker.
“We have missed Jordan because he is a threat in front of goal, but we will assess him closer to the game,” said Baker.
Leek comfortably beat Lincoln 4-1 in the preliminary round of the FA Trophy a fortnight ago, but Baker has warned his players not to take the return clash lightly.
He said: “It’s not always ideal to play the same team again so soon after a good victory over them. They [Lincoln] will be keen for revenge and I’m sure their manager will have them up for this game.”
Blues have suffered back-to-back defeats since their Trophy win, losing 1-0 to promotion challengers Basford United last Saturday and then going down 2-1 to North Staffordshire rivals Kidsgrove United in the Integro League Cup on Wednesday night.
