“We decided to take the plunge with this big show, which is the biggest show we have had to date and it isn’t without its own challenges. But the cast, some of which have been here since the group started but everyone has got behind and worked so hard to make this show the best show we have ever produced.” – Melanie James, Chair of Genesis Theatre.
The Group which was founded in 2010, are no strangers to West End and Broadway hits. The group since its creation have produced shows such as Fame, Bugsy, Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan the British Musical and Godspell. Sister Act follows in the same vein as this and the group continues to bring West End Shows to the stage here in Leek.
“We had a small preview of the show in Hanley a few weeks ago when the Mitchell Arts Centre was celebrating an anniversary and the feedback we got from that was very positive and people were asking how they could get tickets. Once the cast found that out, everyone was buzzing and this has given them that extra burst of energy to do their very best and make this the best show we have ever done.” – Melanie James.
