A First Potteries bus route which passes through the Staffordshire Moorlands is among 164 journeys to be axed in the in the company’s latest timetable shake-up.
It is Service 32 (Hanley-Uttoxeter) which passes through Werrington, Cheadle and Tean.
Bus times affected:
Monday to Friday trips withdrawn from Hanley: 6.14pm, 8pm, 9.30pm. The 8.43pm from Cheadle.
On Saturday journeys at 7.02pm from Tean and 8.25pm from Cellarhead Crossroads withdrawn, as is the 8.30pm Sunday service from Hanley.
First Potteries blame a decrease in bus users, especially in the evenings and Sundays, for the cuts being made to services. The changes are due to come into force on November 26.
Managing director Nigel Eggleton said: “If they [routes] are not being used it is neither practical or cost effective to run buses with no-one travelling on them.”
