Blues drawn away to Glossop North End in FA Trophy

LEEK Town will face fellow giantkillers Glossop North End away in the second qualifying round of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

Like Blues saw off Kettering Town from Evo-Stik Southern League Premier, the Derbyshire outfit also advanced further along the Wembley trail by beating a side from a higher level, when they overcame Evo-Stik North Premier Division Matlock Town 3-2 at home on Saturday.

Glossop are currently fifth in the Evo-Stik North table with 24 points from 13 games and will be no pushover.

The tie on Saturday, November 11 will take Blues players Ben Chapman and Sam Grimshaw back to their former club.

There is a nice prize of £4,000 at stake for the winning team.

Blues boss Neil Baker has an opportunity to assess Glossop North End in league action tonight (Oct 31), when the Hillmen welcome Scarborough Athletic to their Surrey Street ground.
