A SECURITY guard and another motorist have been hailed as heroes after dragging a woman to safety from her crashed car moments before it exploded into a fireball.
JCB worker Adam Sharman, from Stoke, was out on his work-round when he came across a crash involving a car and a Land Rover, on the outskirts of Cheadle, on Friday night.
After spotting a woman was trapped inside the car, the 26 year old, with the help of another passing motorist, forced the crumpled door open to get her out to safety.
PC Dave Stubbs, who was one of the police officers who attended the crash on Cheadle Road, said: “In my view these people saved her [trapped woman] her life. They came across the collision and within seconds sprang into action and pulled her from the car.”
The rescued woman was taken to hospital suffering from leg injuries.
The accident happened at around 10 o’clock. Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101.
