New loaning signing Regis an instant hit for Port Vale

PORT VALE’S new loaning signing Chris Regis made an instant impact on his debut for the Valiants against Crewe Alexandra, in the Checktrade Trophy, last night.

The 20-year-old midfielder scored after just three minutes to set Vale up for a 4-2 victory against their old rivals from across the county border in Cheshire.

Regis, pictured, was in the Southampton academy before joining Colchester United in August 2015.

He was releleased by the League Two club at the start of this year and signed for Bostik South League club Sittingbourne in March in his quest for regular first team football.

Regis has joined Vale on a short-term contract after impressing manager Neil Aspin during trials.
