‘Stop and search’ by police pays off with conviction of drug dealer

A 32 year old man, Leonard Luli, previously from the Longton area, has received 28-month prison sentence after being stopped by Staffordshire Police officers in October.

Luli was found in possession of cocaine and cash and also providing officers with a false identity.
Officers from Newcastle Police Station stop checked Luli on  October 18 in his Toyota Prius. During the search, he produced a false ID in the name of Marco Morretti.
As a result of the check 23 deals of cocaine with a street value of between £690 and £920 and £3250 in cash was recovered.
Luli was later charged with offences of possession with intent to supply cocaine and possessing a false identity document.
He appeared at Stoke on Trent Crown Court this week, where he pleaded guilty to both
offences.
He received 28-months imprisonment for drugs supply and a confiscation order was placed on the cash seized by police and the Toyota Prius.
