Memorial plaque tribute to village community champion Margaret

COMMUNITY champion Margaret Boon has been remembered with affection by residents of Brown Edge.

The village carnival committee, on which Margaret served for 10 years, have unveiled a plaque her memory on the playing fields behind the Hollybush pub.

Margaret, who served for a similar period on the parish council, lost her battle with kidney cancer last year, aged 67.

Carnival committee secretary Cheryl Fish said: “She [Margaret] inspired others to work together on local projects and brought the community together.”
