Leek Town spare Alvechurch a wasted journey: Harrison Park pitch loses out to the weather

LEEK Town’s home game against Alvechurch has been postponed because of the weather.

The Harrison Park pitch is frozen over after the temperature fell below zero again overnight.

Alvechurch were accepted into the Evo-Stik Northern Premier at the end of last season.

The West Midlands side were promoted as Midland League Premier Division champions.

Leek slipped down to 10th place in Division One South last weekend after losing 2-1 away to Corby Town.

Blues have added to their squad by taking midfielder Tom Crawford on loan from Chester FC for a month. He joins his Chester team mate Liam Davies, another midfielder, who is also on loan from the National League club.

Twenty-year-old Liam is the brother of Everton and England U21 star midfielder Tom Davies.

ROCESTER FC’S home game against Shepshed Dynamo in the Midland League Premier Division has also been called off because of a frozen pitch.
