A POPULAR family friendly village pub in the Staffordshire Moorlands may have been the victim of an arson attack.
Firefighters were called to the Jervis Arms, in Onecote, late on Sunday night, following reports of a serious blaze.
The road through the village was closed off while crews fought the fire which had broken out in a building adjoining the pub.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire investigation officer said they believe it is most likely to be deliberate but have not been able to definitely rule out other possibilities due to the level of damage to the property.”
The pub is expected to re-open for business this evening (Dec 20).
