A TOWN centre pub in Leek was closed today (Dec 23) while police carried out an investigation into a woman’s death.
Emergency services were called to the Cattle Market, on Fountain Street, shortly before nine o’clock this morning.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called by our colleagues from the ambulance service who reported the discovery of a deceased woman at the Cattle Market pub in Leek.
“We have carried out an investigation and there are no suspicious circumstances.
“The woman’s next of kin have been made aware and a report will be prepared for Her Majesty’s Coroner.”
