Monday Sport: Debut goal for Blues Babes recent capture Rehanne

REHANNE Mellor (pictured) marked her debut for Leek Town Ladies by scoring against Shrewsbury Town Ladies in the West Midlands Regional Women’s League on Sunday.

The Blues Babes fought back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 to maintain their unbeaten record in Division One North.

Leek trailed to an own goal at half-time, but they levelled through Mellor on the hour mark and then snatched the winner through Elise Skelding after 70 minutes.

Ian Smith’s team’s seventh win from seven starts keeps them in third the table, on the same number of points (21) as the division’s other side with a 100 per cent record, Sutton Coldfield,  one place above them on goal difference.

Wyrley are just one point clear in top spot but have played four games more than their two closest rivals.
