BIDDULPH Valley Leisure swimming pool is set to close for over six weeks to allow for essential maintenance work.
The work will commence on Monday and the pool is scheduled to re-open on Friday, February 23.
Regulars have been made aware of the closure by Parkwood Leisure who operate the pool on behalf of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
Coun Mike Bowen, cabinet member for leisure and sport, said: “We realise this may not be wlecome news for swimmers but these works are essential and require the closure of the pool area.
“Our other pools in Leek and Cheadle remain open and can be used by members during this period.
“There should be no other disruption for users of Biddulph Valley Leisure Centre, which will operate as usual during the pool area closure.
“We apologise for the inconvenience and thank leisure centre users for their patience and understanding while the work is carried out.”
Biddulph Amateur Swimming Club will be making use of the pool at New Horizons Sport and Leisure Centre, in Chell, while theie home town pool is closed.
