Thursday Sport: Stoke City will visit Leek Town in Staffordshire Senior Cup


LEEK Town fans can look forward to an eye-catching visit from Stoke City U23s in the quarter-finals of the Staffordshire Senior Cup.

Stoke, the cup holders, booked their trip to Harrison Park with a 3-0 win at Leek’s Ev-stik League rivals Chasestown on Tuesday night.

Dan Jarvis (pen), Ryan Hill and Shola Ayola found the net for a strong Stoke side which included Blues recent loan player Scott Wara.

Stoke City U23 team: Gyollai, Pemberton, McJannet, Dunwoody, Wara, Butler, Sorenson (Twyford 85), Jarvis, Hill (Szereto 90+1), Shenton, Ayola (Greenidge 80). Unused subs: Collins, Szeereto, Bursik.

In the other quarter-final ties Newcastle Town are at home to Hednesford Town, while Rocester or Stafford Rangers will entertain Kidsgrove Athletic, and Wolverhampton Sporting face Walsall at home.
