Leek Town set to make a welcome return to the turf against Alvechurch

SYNTHETIC playing surfaces are proving a downfall in Leek Town’s quest for a play-off place end of season.

Blues have now failed to win on all three outings on artificial pitches to date following their goalless draw on the 3G surface at Romulus at the weekend.

However, Saturday’s result at least brought an end to successive away defeats on the synthetic covering, against Bedworth United (2-1) and Basford United (3-2), albeit against a team struggling 20th in the table with 25 points from 29 games.

Blues return to the turf tomorrow night (Feb 6) when they face Alvechurch in Division One South of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, kick off 7.45pm.
