Thursday Sport Extra: More success for promising young athlete Eden

ENDON High’s Eden Schiller stormed to victory in the year 10 and 11 girls’ race at the 2018 Staffordshire Schools Cross-Country Championships held at Rodbaston College, Penkridge.

The Longsdon youngster’s winning performance in difficult conditions led the Staffordshire Moorlands team to victory.

It was another excellent result for Eden, pictured, who last month finished third in the U15 girls race at the Staffordshire Cross-Country Championships, staged at West Bromwich, where clocked the same time as the runner-up.

Staffordshire Moorlands also claimed the girls’ eight and nine years team title at the county schools championships, led in by Libby Andrzewski in third place.

ENTRIES are invited for this year’s Cheadle Spring 5 road race which is being held on Sunday, March 4.

The race is organised by Cheadle Running Club and attracts leading runners from across the region.

Entry fees for the main race are £9.50 for club runners and £11.50 for unattached runners.

There is an extra charge of £2 for entries accepted on the day.

It costs £3 to enter the fun run whether in advance or on the day.

The closing date for postal entries is February 28. Cheques should be made payable to Cheadle Running Club.
