Two Leek people to face crown court on drugs charges

TWO Leek people have been charged with drugs offences after police seized a substantial amount of cocaine from a car they stopped in Green Lane, Rudyard.

Daniella Edwards, aged 21, of Garden Street, and Derrick Thompson, aged 30, of Shirley Street, have been ordered by North Staffordshire magistrates to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, on March 19.

Edwards has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, and Thompson, who was remanded in custody, has also been charged with being concerned in the supply of campaign.

Rob Peacock, Local Neighbourhood Sergeant said: “Thanks to some fantastic work by our officers, we have captured two more dealers involved in the transportation and distribution of Class A drugs in the Moorlands. 
We are committed to tackling drug crime in our area and will continue to take appropriate action against those who engage in such activity.
