Dylan Day Memorial Fund is nearing its £25,000 target

ALMOST £21,000 has been raised in memory of young footballer Dylan Day who died from sepsis in January.

The 12 year old Moorside High School student, from Cellarhead, contracted the life-threatening condition after falling ill to influenza.

Dylan lost his fight for life in Liverpool’s Alder Hay Children’s Hospital on the evening of January 20.

A crowdfunding appeal set up on the JustGiving website, in Dylan’s memory, has of today (March 6) so far attracted £20,795 in donations towards it £25,000 target.

The fund was set up by well-wishers to comfort Dylan’s grief-stricken parents, Phil and Sarah Day, and his sister Amelia, and eight-year-old brother Zach.

Dylan, pictured in his favourite Manchester United FC top, played for Leek CSOB U14’s and was a member of the Phil Bruce Soccer School based at Pointon Park, Cheddleton.
