Tuesday Sport: Countdown to Andy’s big night in Birmingham

THERE are still a few £40 tickets available for Leek professional boxer Andy Keates big title fight in Birmingham in a few weeks time.

The 26 year old postie will be attempting to deliver the IBO Continental Welterweight crown up against Ludlow’s Craig Morris at the Genting Arena on Saturday, March 24.

The fight is on the undercard to the IBO World Welterweight clash between Birmingham bruiser Frankie Gavin (pictured in training with Andy) and African Bethuel Ushona.

Tickets are available by calling 0844 338 0338. A coach will be running from Leek. Fare £13.

This is Andy’s biggest-ever fight following on from his success in grasping the Midlands Area Welterweight belt at Derby’s Rollerworld last October, when he caused an upset by outpointing Belper’s Ryan Fields.

Morris, winner of nine of his 10 pro fights to date, is set to present Andy with a similar tough test in his bid to take a further step up the boxing ladder to the big time.
