Police van incident in Scotland: Uttoxeter man charged with knife offence

A 45 year old Uttoxeter man has appeared in court in Scotland charged with being in possession of a knife at Perth railway station (pictured) on March 5.

Stuart Lymer made no plea and was remanded in custody after an application for bail was refused.

Staffordshire Police officers were present at the hearing.

Lymer was arrested by police at Perth railway station on Monday after being spotted with a 17 year old female who had previously been reported missing in Cannock.

The teenager was also arrested but is receiving treatment in a Dundee hospital following an incident in a police van.

Both parties are said to have sustained injuries in the police vehicle.

Police Scotland have referred the matter to the Police Investigation and Review Commission (PIRC).
