Win number six at the races for trainer Jennie’s super ‘Star’

STAR Ascending landed his sixth win from eight starts when he stormed home on the all-weather surface at Wolverhampton racecourse tonight (April 7).

The six-year-old is the rising star of Jennie Candlish’s Basford Grange stables and delighted his followers by winning the 7.45 1m 4f handicap at rewarding odds of 14/1.

Jockey Joe Fanning, pictured, steered home what was the in-form Staffordshire Moorlands yard’s sixteenth winner of 2018.

Star Ascending is owned by Cheadle businessman Paul Wright-Bevans.

The stables have four runners entered over the jumps at Carlisle tomorrow (April 8): Astaroland (1.50), Grove Silver (3.55), Aengus (4.30) and Cosheston (5.30).
