Historic village pub ready to welcome customers after refurbishment

AN historic village pub in the Staffordshire Moorlands is ready to re-open after being granted a late licence.

The Talbot Inn, in Alton, has undergone refurbishment work since closing several years ago.

Permission has been granted for showing films, playing live and recorded music and the late serving of alcohol and refreshments.

The district council  licensing sub-committee has ruled the pub can open every day from 10am until 2am, but the late sale of alcohol will only be permitted on Thursdays and Saturdays.
