CRY fundraiser in memory of popular Cheadle student

A full house is on the cards at a charity bingo night in Cheadle next month.

It is the latest of a series of fundraising events to be organised in memory of 16 year old popular Painsley College student Joe Leyland (pictured).

Joe died from an undetected genetic heart condition in 2016 and family and friends have since raised more than £16,000 for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

The fundraiser will take place at Cheadle Cricket Club on Saturday, May 12 (7.30pm).

Tickets are £8 and cover the cost of seven games of bingo and refreshments. Call  07790 426 579 or 07582 238 118.

Some of the money raised so far has purchased a defibrillator which has been installed at Cheadle’s Tean Road cricket ground.
